Deregulation
The Public Service Commission's deregulation of the natural gas industry in Florida has made it possible for commercial and industrial accounts to save money on their natural gas through competition and choice.
...It's that simple
Facts about deregulation:
-
Through the existing pipeline infrastructure, the local utility will continue to deliver your natural gas, read meters and respond to emergencies.
-
You, the customer, will buy the commodity from Mirabito Gas, a natural gas marketer.
-
Mirabito Gas can sell natural gas below the state-regulated levels available from the local utility. Mirabito Gas does not have the same high fixed costs as utility companies. Therefore we can charge less.
-
With Mirabito as your natural gas supplier, certain taxes and fees will be eliminated, helping to result in cost savings.
-
Mirabito Gas will render these saving without changes in your existing operations. It is only paperwork.
-
You will receive 2 invoices, one from your utility for the delivery of the gas and one from Mirabito gas for the commodity. Mirabito Gas will receive your consumption volumes from the utility.
-
The utility company earns the majority of their revenue through the delivery of the natural gas through their pipes and they will continue to do so regardless of whether they supply the gas or a marketer supplies the gas.
-
Natural gas is produced in Texas, Louisiana, or the Gulf of Mexico. It is transported into Florida via two interstate pipelines. Deregulated gas is the same quality as regulated natural gas and is delivered in the same pipeline.
-
Mirabito Gas purchases natural gas from the market, just like the utility.
